Rewards
Shops save money when you pay this way. Some of it comes back to you.
Not points that expire before you can use them. Money off, credit at businesses you actually go to, and offers you can see before you pay.
Why there is anything to give
A card payment costs a shop up to three pounds in every hundred.
On a four pound coffee that is about twelve pence, which sounds like nothing until you count a hundred and fifty coffees a day. Over a year it is thousands of pounds that never reaches the person who made the coffee.
Paying directly costs them almost nothing. The businesses on Ceodore can afford to hand some of that difference to the people who pay that way, and a lot of them do, because it is cheaper than advertising.
What turns up
Four kinds, all from the businesses themselves.
Money off
A percentage or an amount off, sometimes on everything, sometimes on a few things they want to shift.
Credit back
A bit of what you spent, back as credit to use there next time. It sits in the app until you do.
Stamp cards
Buy nine, tenth free. Counted automatically, so there is no bit of card to leave in a coat pocket.
First visit offers
Somewhere new trying to get you through the door for the first time. Worth a look on the map.
You see offers before you payOn the business profile and on the map, not discovered afterwards on a receipt.
Everything in one placeCredit, stamps and gift cards for every business you use, on one screen.
Nothing expires quietlyAnything with an end date says so, and tells you before it goes.
Earned by spending, nothing elseYou get rewards for buying things, never for holding anything or putting money in.
Where it comes from
The business pays for it. We do not.
Every offer you see was created and funded by the business running it. They set what it is worth, what it applies to and when it stops. Ceodore administers it and keeps count, and takes nothing out of it.
That matters, because a reward funded by a platform disappears the moment the platform's mood changes. A discount from the café down the road is just the café down the road wanting you back.
What this is not
This is a loyalty scheme, not an investment. Credit you earn is money off at the business that gave it to you. It is not tradeable, it has no market price, and it cannot be cashed out or sold to anyone.
We will never reward you for putting money in, holding a balance, or leaving it untouched. Rewards come from buying things at businesses, and nothing else.
